Why is my number of steps incorrect?

July 6, 2021

To track your steps, your sports application and your Meeriad application use the same pedometer (or “accelerometer”): that of your phone.

This simply allows you to record the movements of your device. Then your sports app and your Meeriad app interpret this raw information using different methods to count your steps. We don’t have details on how they work, but that explains these (sometimes significant) differences between the number of steps displayed on your Meeriad app and on your sports app.

If you are using an Android phone: check that the permissions to access your Physical Activity are accepted. To do this, go to the Settings of your phone in Applications> Meeriad> Authorizations> Physical Activity.

If you are using an Apple phone, the Apple Health app sends the data directly to us. You can also verify that Meeriad is authorized to access Apple Health data from your phone settings.

If the problem persists, please do not hesitate to contact us.

You can also fill the data gap by manually importing your activity.
